Ok, I love shoes. I also love music. From the "beginning" mostly rock and hard rock. The in 2007 I moved to Australia and by some reason started to listen to Swedish schlager as well as a lot of the fantastic aussie music. At my new job in the beginning of 2008 the art director was also a House DJ. After three months of hate towards that music I started to like it, then loving it.

The last year my "music style" has been mixed up completly - old rock'n'roll, dance, house, hard rock, pop...

Once again I'm stuck into house music. Today Progressive House. Found a remix with most of the best progressive house songs of 2007-2008. The remix is 2,5 hours long and has been going on and on for a couple of days and nights now. I'd really love to start remix and dj'ing myself. Anyone having any suggestions for good inspiration, sites or programs? Please comment!

I'm in love. I have never ever listen so much to the same albums over and over again since Metallica S&M. I love the music of/by Kaskade. I truely do. Some are pure lounge, other more house/dance. Some have good lyrics some is only instrumental.

Quite interesting with covers. Before I got frustrated and thought new versions destroyed old ones. But hey, covers put old song back into light! One house song that I really like and have been writing about is Supermode with Tell me why. The AD at work showed me the original this week. Here the two versions are:

Since thursday evening I have been listening to one album. One album only. Rockferry. Rockferry by Duffy. The 23yo woman from Wales is creating amazing music! I have never been listening to a female artist that caught me right away and so harsh. I do believe that it has a bit to it that some of the lyrics is sorta like my life at the moment. I can feel the pain or the joy in the different songs. The determination. I love this album. Buy it. Listen to it at youtube. Buy tickets to her live performances. This woman is amazing. Don't miss out on her!

3 months

Three months, 10 hours and about 15 min ago I landed outside Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, with flames out of the plane motors. I have been back in Sweden for three months. It feels a bit unreal. The year in Australia almost feels like a black hole somewhere years back in my life. I was so filled with anger, sadness and disappointment when I decided to leave forever four days before the Christmas break flight to Sweden. I am still filled with a lot anger, sadness and disappointment when I look back. What was my plan when I moved to the other side of the world and what happened?

The good side of the year: I met wonderful people that I'll always remember and love and hopefully keep contact with - Lizzy and Erika is the two diamonds. The two rocks that kept me hanging on in tough times, even though might had a hard time themselves. And I got so much life experiences - manage to live on my own and meet people, all alone, with no help (at the beginning) or contacts on the other side of the world - the first time moving from home.

Today I am alone for the first time in my familys flat. And I am happy. It feels so good to have some time alone. Even though I right away thought about having a friend over. But Im looking forward to quality time this weekend with people that means the most to me now. Back home.

You know. You loose contact with a lot people when you are away for a year. Its not hard nowadays to get the contact going again, but what keeps me away? What am I afraid of?


Sam Sparro - Black and Gold is still the favourite tune. It has been going for more than 24 hours on repeat, with a tiny break up with Mustasch songs tonight.

Brittish music

I love music from Great Britain (and Australia of course), It is something special with music from the island with the different mini-countries. An old favourite that I started to listen to the other day is Lamb. I got the single Gabriel sent to me from Isak years ago, before he made my homepage. I loved it straight away and that song got me into the Café del Mar cds (lounge music). I still lover Gabriel. Another favourite is Gorecki. Here is Gabriel...:

Drink recommendation of the weekend:
* Drink glas
* crushed ice
* Havanna Club Blanco (DO NOT use Bacardi Rum)
* mint
* lime
* raw sugar
* lemonade
* a sour fruit/berries; raspberry, blueberries...

Pour 4 cl Havanna club, some crushed ice and a table spoon raw sugar in each glas. Crush lime (½-1 lime/glas) and mint (three-five leaves/glas) until it all is a nice soucy thing, pour raspberries in and crush them as well but not as much. Pour into to the glas along with some crushed ice. You should have a couple of centimeters to the top of the glas, fill it up with lemonade. Take a spoon and make sure to lift all the bottom jummie up to the top so it's all nicely mixed.

You've got yourself (and friends) a classic Raspberry Mojito.

It actually started snowing yesterday as well! So even the weather was up for our new tradition. Cause now it certainly is a tradition. We even started discussing other summer sports like paint ball so we can have a triple date every 6th month!

My team, Sojo, lost this years game of boule. Entirely because of me. Sorry! The winners for this year came to be last years biggest loosers - T & F - Team Domstol. Congratulations! You deserved it this year!!!

I am used to waking up to the same tune every morning on my mobile. But this morning I woke up by a radio alarm, it was a relatively old tune that I really like, so I started to sing along and feel the rhytm, haha. As soon as I got home I just had to get the tune! TV Shows

I have never really been in to watching tv and tv shows. But when I came to Australia I started watching tv and movies like never before! My favourite series are Life an american actionish crimeseries and through my swedish friend Carro I started watching Rove every sunday evening @ 9 PM.

It took me more than a couple of episodes to like it, but as soon as that I just had to watch it every sunday! My favourite episode are when the comedians Hamish and Andy arrives to a Brissie Caravan Park after two weeks in a caravan driving from Perth (western australia) to Brissie "The Caravan of Courage" (I think they drove like 600 km/day). So they decided to broadcast from the caravan Park. With gusts like Good Charlotte and James Blunt e.g.

I never really liked James Blunt and thought he was a pretty boring person until I saw this:

Hi and welcome to my new blog! This is a blog that hopefully will be filled with tech, music, photography, wine and other big and small things in life!

My name is Sophia, Im one of those swedish blondes who went to Australia. I spent one year (almost;)) at the Sunshine Coast in southeast Queensland studying photography and partying of course!

At the moment I am back in my home town Stockholm. I'm writing in english to keep my english going and give my Australian friends a chance to know what's going on in Europe.

Why 'Roll the Dice'? Music is an enormous inspiration in my life and the inspiration for this blog to be came from Finley Quaye - Dice.
